EHS Manager

Fairmont, NC

Responsibilities
In this role you will develop, plan, implement, maintain and monitor an EHS management system for the organization that meets the company Safety Assessment for Effectiveness (SAFE) requirements.

As an EHS Manager, you will also ensure company safety initiatives are deployed for the organization, including behavior-based safety (BBS), ergonomics programs, risk assessment, EHS training, machine guarding and employee engagement. Additionally you will be responsible for items such as:
• Assess, evaluate, quantify and prioritize EHS risks
• Create and deliver training programs
• Develop EHS metrics
• Participate in risk assessments
• Oversee and manage the handling and storage of hazardous chemicals as well as implement safety measures
• Monitor air and water quality
• Conduct regular audits and inspections

Education, Experience and Preferred Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years focused on plating operations.
• Familiarity with local EHS laws, regulations and standards, especially those related to hazardous materials and plating chemicals.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA and other relevant regulations.
• Experience in a technical, engineering or manufacturing role with specific exposure to chemical handling and plating processes.
• Strong demonstrated communication, negotiation, influencing, collaboration and team-building skills.
• Demonstrated ability in conducting audits and inspections of all aspects of EHS throughout a worksite and/or manufacturing plant.

Toolroom Technician

Grayslake, IL

Responsibilities

As a Toolroom Technician you will build new tools, fixtures and jigs, sharpen and repair existing tooling. You will also set up and debug new tooling establishing material feed angles, pilot release angles and adjusting in die sensor timing.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Set up and run a Haas VMC to machine tooling components and at times production parts
  • Final assembly of new tooling and fixtures
  • Debug and repair custom production assembly machines
  • Maintain toolroom equipment, including cleaning and refilling coolant tanks, keeping oil levels up and wiping down machines. Sweep and mop work area.

Education, Experience and Preferred Skills

  • A high school diploma is required for this position.
  • 5 years as a tool and die maker repairing and maintaining tooling.
  • 3 years setting up and operating VMCs to produce close tolerance one off parts in a toolroom environment.
  • Must own your own typical machinist tools, mics, depth mics, calipers, grinding vises, etc.

Required skills include:

  • Ability to surface grind cutting punches, form punches and die details within less than .0005 tolerance
  • Ability to maintain timing of tooling when sharpening
  • Proficiency in operating a comparator
  • Ability to dress Radii via a Clearview radius dresser
  • Have a clear understanding of indie sensors and die timing

  • Proficient in Solidworks, Camworks, Autocad and Excel or similar programs

Buyer

Responsibilities

In this role, you will provide support to the Harger team by negotiating and purchasing raw materials, evaluating existing and potential vendors and source new and alternative suppliers. You will also interface with manufacturing to ensure the timely flow of materials so that appropriate inventory levels are maintained. In doing so, you will be tracking and reviewing inventory, set new or revised inventory levels and place orders as needed.

Education, Experience and Preferred Skills

  • High School diploma or equivent is required. Some college is preferred.
  • 3-5 years experience in Purchasing and Inventory Control is desired.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

Technical Project Analyst

We are seeking a Technical Project Analyst to ensure that all incoming customer requests are properly classified, scoped and prepared for execution.

Your experience in technical analysis, drafting, electrical grounding, lightning protection, or project coordination is essential to this role. As a Technical Project Analyst, you must be familiar with industry standards and certifications related to grounding and lightning protection systems. This will help you fullfil the responsibilities of the position, including:

  • Evaluate incoming customer requests to determine if they require an estimate, drawing, analysis, or assessment.
  • Assess the completeness of project information and ensure all necessary details are available before work begins.
  • Use internal metrics to determine project duration and communicate expected completion timelines.
  • Perform final reviews of completed projects, verifying compliance with company standards and technical accuracy.
  • Log key project metrics and maintain accurate records within company systems.
  • Work closely with designers and engineers to uphold quality and enforce internal standards.

CNC Programmer / Product Tester

Grayslake, IL

Responsibilities

The Product Tester verifies the accuracy of new mold designs by performing multiple exothermic weld tests and collaborates with the Manufacturing Engineer. Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity as well as good depth perception and high visual acuity are extremely important in this role.

You will be working with CNC machines, using CAD/CAM software and Microsoft Office. Since you are responsible for testing the mold designs, you will need to maintain material inventory by ordering and collecting what is needed to perform various testing functions.

This position is located in a shop environment, not in an office, where you will be working graphite molds as well as doing computer work.

Education, Experience and Preferred Skills

A high school diploma is required for this position, however some post-secondary or manufacturing technical education with intermediate computer skills (2D & 3D CAD/CAM, Excel) is preferred. Familiarity with CNC machines is a plus. Good arithmetic skills are essential. You must be able to read, understand and create blueprints and have a mechanical aptitude. Being able to use tools (hand, air, power) and read measurement equipment (rulers, tape measures, gages, calipers, micrometers and dial indicators) is important. Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds may be required.

Wastewater Technician - 2nd shift

Fairmont, NC

Responsibilities

As a Wastewater technician you will monitor, operate, adjust, treat and process wastewater systems, including removing solids, monitoring Ph levels and chemicals to ensure treatment process optimization and system balance.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Collect and sample wastewater throughout shift to ensure environmental standards are met.
  • Perform routine inspection on chemical pumps and wastewater systems. Troubleshoot, repair, replace mechanical equipment.
  • Perform daily tests of utilities and log results.
  • Review laws and regulations regarding wastewater and treatment.
  • Set up and operate various machines and assemble parts as directed by Cell Lead.
  • Use computer-controlled equipment to operate and monitor automatic or semi-automatic machines in the plating line.
  • Use controls and adjust machine settings to complete more complex tasks according to specifications.
  • Inspect products and ensure they conform to specification and industry standards.
  • Maintain productivity at levels that match or exceed production standards.
  • Responsible for following safety rules as well as using safe procedures.
